Happy summer, can you believe July 4th is around the corner! I seriously can’t believe how time fly’s. You blink and it’s a new year, your child graduating from college, getting married, your grandchildren born, starting school, growing up and you’re getting older. I have always been grateful for my family, friends and now I am grateful to all of the participants, friends, volunteers and partners that I see and talk to everyday.
As of September 1st I will be leaving my post as the Executive Director of the Heineberg Community & Senior Center. During my tenure I have accomplished a great deal and have made lifelong friends. I have learned valuable insight from all of the wonderful people here on all facets of life and death. I grew up in this neighborhood and moved to Essex many years ago. I love this area and with my mother’s passing we are selling our childhood home, this has been the hardest thing I have ever done and I couldn’t have made it through without you. I’m truly blessed to have had and continue to have the most supportive friends and volunteers here at the center. Hopefully whoever takes my place will enjoy this wonderful job as much as I have. I have asked that no reception be given to say goodbye to everyone and I hope I’m not disappointing you, but I would rather say, “see you later” in person, when I see you at the center. I will miss this “little town” in a big city and all of the friendliest people who meet here.
One of the last projects I plan to complete before I leave is the improvement of the lift. The Annual Appeal is going well. If you haven’t sent your contribution, please do, we really do appreciate all you do.
I am very excited to say that that starting the evening of August 16th – 7-9:30 pm we will be having square dancing here. They will meet here the 3 Tuesdays in August and then…..they will start teaching here! Please feel free to come in and watch and see what you will be learning this fall when we will be offering square dancing, two step and eventually swing!
Thank you for everything!
